HILDA AND JESSE

Hilda and Jesse is a fancy breakfast + all-day eatery located on an iconic corner of North Beach, San Francisco. Co-founders/chefs Kristina Liedags Compton and Rachel Sillcocks formulated the concept through their popular Brunch for Dinner pop-ups.

Kristina + Rachel envisioned creating a cheerful, nostalgic Americana diner-inspired, inclusive space, and we were honored to be among the local creatives they tapped to bring their vision to life – including artists Maya Fuji (entry mural) and Terrance Eubanks Jr (restroom mural). Portraits of Hilda (Kristina’s grandmother) and Jesse (Rachel’s grandfather) by artist Daisy Patton adorn baby-teal-striped walls along with framed mirrors, inspired by mirrored walls often seen in midcentury diners. Other nods to retro diners include the pastel tiled surfaces, our custom camel + avocado vinyl banquettes, linoleum checkerboard floors, and iconically retro glitter-red vinyl bar stools.

Hilda and Jesse has been featured in Eater, SFist, and The Bold Italic.
